1991 Volvo 740 Wagon

The picture is not my car, but of one that looks very similar to mine. My Volvo wagon is of a 1991 Vintage, It is a low mileage example with a mere 214000 miles and was purchased at the local Wal-Mart. When I was living in Texas, my commute was about 10 miles each way. I found that when I moved to Atlanta, I was doing a 60 mile commute each day in my Mercedes Benz E420.
I wanted to find a cheap commuter car that I could put the miles on and keep the miles on my fairly low mileage E420.
I found this car at the local Wal-Mart store. It had been parked there with a For Sale sticker. I called and asked about it. The owner had owned it for two years. He had a stack of receipts for the car and it was owned by another person that had a bunch of receipts for it. He said all the right things and I low balled him with a price, he turned me down, so I asked him to think about it.
The next day he called and informed me that Wal-Mart had contacted him and asked him to move the car before they do. This had made my offer more attractive. I have spent some time cleaning this car up, it has scrubbed up pretty well. I actually enjoy driving it. It is slow and handles like a battleship. But I have put 2000 miles on it in one month and it has run with no problem. In the time I have owned it, I have replaced a cracked tail light an missing blinker light. I also replaced. This car is quite reliable, it needs a little bit of work done, mainly cosmetic to make it look good. I am not in a hurry to make it look perfect as I have more important cars that I could put my money into. The interior is in excellent condition, but could do with a clean. I plan to recondition the leather in this car.
It is great for hauling stuff and when it eventually breaks down. Then I will replace it or press one of the other cars into service.
